Pulled in several directions, we must find ways to meet the obligations of teaching, research and service. As we near the end of another academic year, we will look at ways to complete the equation. What happens when we have to let something go for a while in one area to meet the needs in another? Are there better ways to balance the equation? How can we as an academic family support one another?

This seminar will provide an overview of why the Title IX Office was created, how its role is different from the AA/EEO Office, and how employees can access its services. Employees with frequent contact with students are especially encouraged to attend, so that information about this new office can be shared with them as appropriate.

If you are an employee at the Gulf Coast Research Lab Campus, this overview will be telecasted in MEC.

If you are an employee at the Stennis Space Campus, this overview will be telecasted in room 1022/112.

Please join a knowledgeable University panel consisting of a College Dean, Department Chair, and faculty members as they share their experiences, tips, and dos and don'ts regarding pre-tenure review, promotion and tenure.

This panel is led by Dr. Denis Wiesenburg, Provost, and facilitated by Dr. Tom O’Brien, Department Chair, Department of Educational Studies and Research. Faculty members in attendance will have opportunities to ask questions, as this will be an open forum session. Hear from those who have been through these processes at Southern Miss and learn successful strategies you can use.
